MUSEUMS

Montreal has a rich history: vivid, intense and multicultural! Whether you’re discovering it for the first time or reacquainting yourself, you'll love visiting Montreal's 14 museums of history, archaeology and cultural history, accessible to all. Their collections and archives contain more than 2.3 million items, telling the story of Montreal's evolution from pre-history to the modern day. Every year, they organize more than 30 exhibitions and events, as well as regular visits and numerous online activities, with passion and precision. Fourteen museums, fourteen ways to tell the story of this city and its past. Fourteen ways for us to fall in love all over again.

The festival

Montreal History Museums are proud to present the first edition of the Festival d’histoire de Montréal, from May 14 to 16, 2021. Montrealers of all ages and backgrounds are invited to discover history in a whole new way, with all its many facets and in all the forms it takes. With its playful and interactive programming, the Festival d’histoire de Montréal offers innovative themes that allow us to connect our experiences to the society we live in and its origins.
